I was smoking an AF Cuban Belicoso out in the garage, and loving it. It was just a bit overly humidified, and I had to touch it up a few times to keep it from going out.
As I got to the lower 1/3rd it started to get a bit strong for me, and just on a whim I took a paper clip and poked 2 small holes in the wrapper down next to the band. I was surprised at the result. The draw was hardly affected, but the smoke went from borderline too much for me to very pleasant.
As far as I can figure, the two small pinholes allowed just a bit of air to mix with the smoke as I pulled, making it seem milder. I plan to try this again when I'm smoking something that is kicking my ash, as an easy way to tone it down just a bit. Cheers to all, Larry.
