Re: Montecristo (DR) Club Cabinet No. 10

Got a 5 pack from the Devil Site for a song, and thought I'd contribute my first review.

Humidor time: 4 months
Drink: sparkling water

Prelight: A fine looking cigar, a long corona, with a dark EMS wrapper that's a bit more bumpy and more oily than the usual Monte. Very solid feel. First rate construction. Cold draw was easy, but not too easy. Not much in the way of aroma.

Burn: After toasting the foot with my torch, the cigar lit smoothly and easily. It had a beautifully straight burn all the way down to the nub, with no wobble. The draw was easy, producing good smoke volume.

Flavor: The body was medium, but the flavor was fairly delicate at first. Very smooth, toasty, creamy, nutty, maybe hints of almond. As it progressed to the second and last thirds, the flavor deepened a little bit, with the nuttiness becoming more pronounced, and a hint of creamy coffee. A really nice balance. The aroma was outstanding. This was not a bold, in your face, powerhouse cigar, but a smooth, subtle, complex cigar meant to be sipped.

Rock on.
