Cigars in Guatemala? Sí

I arrived in Antigua, Guatemala on Christmas Day, to the sound of fireworks (that sounded more like AK 47's) and an erupting Volcano. Having got those pleasantries out of the way, I proceeded to go out in search of puros.

It turns out that, in the small city of Antigua, there is a place called Casa de Habano. http://www.stogiefresh.com/images/CS...a_de_puros.jpg

It has a decent selection of cigars from Cuba. Looked legit to me. Not that I tried one, since we all know that it is illegal for American citizens to smoke Cubans, even abroad. However, I did have this great dream. I dreamt that I bought a Vegas Robaina Robusto. I lit it (in my dream) with a Zippo lighter with a Z-plus insert that I brought over in a special Otterbox that allows you to carry the lighter legally on all domestic flights. In this dream I sat in the upstairs of this shop with my cigar, listening to music, practicing Spanish and trying out the Guatemalan beer "Gallo." Nice dream.

In case you travel to a Spanish-speaking country, here's some vocabulary to know:
fosforo or cerillo = match
cahita de fosforos = box of matches
carterita = book of matches
encendedor = lighter
capa = cigar wrapper (also refers to the cap of the cigar)
guillotina = cutter
ceniza = ash

I'll keep you posted on my adventures. My best.

Roughing it in Antigua, Guatemala
