Post Saw II

After all the excitement I finally got to watch Saw II today.
Unfortunately it was not all that I had expected but a good movie in the all nonetheless.

The plot remained very much the same:
A patient diagnosed with cancer who gets sick of the way people take life itself for granted so he takes on a quest to teach a valueable lesson to humanity. By carefully selecting victims according to their day to day deeds, he devises twisted puzzles for them, giving them the option of survival at a hefty price.

This movie opens with a victim and his puzzle. Set in the same atmosphere as great classics such as seven and kiss the girls, the viewer is overwhelmed with a solitary feeling yet kept on the edge of the seat, locked on the screen. Not as active nor as interresting as the first but then again which sequel is? The classic twist in the end is still unexpected, yet not as ingenious as in the first. I can honestly say that I preferred the first SAW probably because of the better use of imagination.
The movie was far too laid back.

Opinions... the producer could have changed the plot at least or simply add more puzzles just for spice.
Then again, as I said before, you can´t expect much from a sequel.

I could probably give it a 7 out of 10 considering it was still well worth the watch.
