I just got back from the Dominican Republic and I stayed at the house of Gene Arganese of Arganese Cigars. I toured the factory and farms of Arganese cigars and then Gene made me an offer for our members of CigarLive.com. The tour was simply fantastic and I am working on the story, pictures, and video from my trip so that others can see my experiece.

We are lucky here at CigarLive in that Gene Arganese has made us an exclusive invitation to the Dominican Republic.
Gene Arganese has offered to host two trips for ten people each in January. Yes CigarLive.com has another first.

1. You pay for airfare only to Santiago in the Dominican Republic.

2. Arganese Cigars will provide food and accomidations at the residence of Gene Arganese. The house has 5 rooms with double beds. Giant swimming pool, coconut trees, and it rocks.

3. Arganese Bus will pick you up at airport and take you to the Arganese house. Your stay will include tours of the Arganese factory, fields, and processing. The house is walking distance from shopping area. By the way his bar is stocked with fine spirits as well.

4. The openings are as follows.



January 16th-19th First Trip
Come in on the 16th (Wednesday) and leave on the 19th (Saturday)

Since it is in the Dominican Republic You Will NEED a Valid US PASSPORT. This can be a deal killer because you will have to get it expidited if you do not have one.

I was there last week with Daniel and I must say the overall experience was one that I will not soon forget. Gene and his crew there made us feel right at home and there was never a dull moment.

The view from the back of the house looking down onto Santiago was amazing. It was great just to hang out up on the deck and smoke a few choice Arganese Cigars while reflecting on the day we had.

For anyone that has ever considered visiting a cigar factory i would say this is the one to jump on! All you need to pay for is your way there, once there Gene has graciously offered everything you will need while in the Dominican which includes lodging, meals, transportation etc.

I would like to personally thank Gene Arganese for inviting Daniel and I to the Dominican in order to see and learn how Tobacco goes from a mere seedling to a nice high quality cigar. The fact that Gene has offered up 20 spots to CigarLive.com members is amazing.. I still can't believe the generosity that he has shown Daniel and I and now the rest of the member base here on CigarLive.com

If you pass on this great opportunity you will surely regret it... hehe.

WOW! I have a valid current passport and love to travel, but my January is completely book. I will be in training for my new job. I would love to go next January (2009) if the offer will still be on the table. I have been around the world, but I have yet to visit the DR.

Check orbitz.com for an idea. It was something like $280 from Charlotte. I would love to go, but I am travelling non-stop Jan/Feb.
