Cigars are a way of life, and if they didn't exist, what would be the point? Madness borders genius, while the truth resides in the limelight.

I've read many of the stories before but they're worth rereading.

    I love this thread.

I've been trying to read Steig Larrson for a few months now, and I just can't get past the second chapter of "Dragon Tattoo." I've tried probably four times, but something about his style just seems to makes my mind wander elsewhere (the first few pages, about the flowers, were so well written and intriguing, but then...pfffft). I'll keep trying though...maybe one day I'll be in the right mood to read long enough that it keeps my interest.

Currently, I'm reading Shogun by James Clavelle. I can see why this was so huge back in the day. Prior to this, I read Naufrage de la frégate la Méduse by Henri Savigny and Alexandre Corréard. I've read other accounts of the sinking of the Méduse, but to read about it in the words of someone who experienced it first hand...just....wow.

I also found the beginning difficult, I attributed it to the translation. It is just a little bit off, but once I got used to it I moved right along.
