Camacho introduces 2 new sizes to the ultra-premium Diploma line.

Made from the same wrappers as the Diploma, 11/18 and 07/05 – The Corona leaf (fifth priming) of the AUTHENTIC COROJO seed available only from the Eiroa family!

The newest additions, the Camacho Scorpion and the Diploma 60×6 , will finally be distributed nationwide. Previously available in only two stores, you may now receive these limited production cigars. It is well known that the Camacho Corojo Diploma is Christian’s absolute favorite cigar because of its strength, complexity, and smooth finish.

CAMACHO SCORPION

Named in honor of Mr. Carlos Escalona, after he was stung by a Scorpion 4 years ago while hosting a rowdy group from N.C., this is a beautiful Perfecto that should be acquired by the box!

Suggested Retail: $10.95 per cigar

CAMACHO DIPLOMA 60×6

Available in only limited quantities a few times a year, this cigar is the exact same blend but in a larger size. The limit is due to the small quantity of large 23” leaves
that are harvested from the Authentic Corojo crops from Eiroa’s plantation in Jamastran.

Suggested Retail: $11.35 per cigar

So what is the difference between the Scorpian and the Diploma? I thought I heard somewhere that the Scorpian was a Diploma just extensively aged.. is this true?

Lok,

You are correct! The Camacho Scorpions were produced for Shades of Havana cigars in Arizona. Here is the low down on the NEW Camacho Scorpions:

(Published by Doc Stogie Fresh)

Early in 2004, Christian Eiroa, in conjunction with a private cigar club from North Carolina, decided to make a cigar that would age in the Camacho factory for over a year. Christian Eiroa would then open and smoke these cigars a year later. Christian did smoke them, during Christmas dinner in 2005 and he decided that he liked this new cigar.

The new cigar was named the Camacho Scorpion and Camacho produced just over 12,000 of them. The private group received around 300 cigars and Camacho kept the rest because Christian liked the cigar and wanted to experiment with the concept of super-aging cigars prior to distribution.

Christian decided to continue the aging program by setting aside around 3,000 cigars each year. The cigars have been met, thus far, with rave reviews!

I recently heard about these cigars when I visited the Camacho factory in Honduras in January of 2007. Christian told us the story of the cigars, but wasn’t real clear about when, or if, they might hit the marketplace.

This special cigar is called the Camacho Scorpion. It’s similar to the Camacho Diploma and 11/18 “Limited” blends in that it uses tobacco from the upper primings of the plant. But what really makes this cigar special is that it has been aging in his factory for over 4 YEARS! The extra age on these cigars makes for an incredible smoke. These are quintessential Camacho Corojo’s: full bodied and yet, because of the aging, very refined.

Or name a new blend "hang on tight"...after we rode in the back of a truck on a Honduran road with Christian driving. The monkey at the gate of Camp Camacho needs a cigar named after him too.
