And since nobody else has said it, I will. This post can be deleted by the mods if they want, but I can't pretend anymore that is was okay to cancel this contest. If you start a contest and have entries, it is wrong to just cancel the contest because you weren't satisfied with the entries. It's that simple. Camacho may have paid more than $2500 in total to the people that submitted entires, I have no idea. But that's not the point. The point is when you start a contest on a public forum and offer a prize, then pull the prize- it just makes you look bad.

But there were hardly any people doing it. The whole idea was to get people to do videos. Camacho tried a new type of contest and it did not work that well. There is no reason they should loose money for nothing. It simply did not get the response so they said they would take care of people that started on it. I have tried one video contest and it did not work, lucky it was not for money.

IMO I say that they should do a contest in which other boards are NOT doing the same thing because then other members of other boards can come to our forum and post their video and vice versa. Make a contest to where each forum is unique.

I dunno, I'm a member of both SC and CL and I like different things about each. CL is def. my home but it's nice to hear the voices of other people with completely different personalities and opinions as well.

Also, for the record, I'm not expecting anything from Camacho in return for the commercial. I wanted to do the commercial contest for the fun of it. It's a bummer the contest was canceled but that's not going to stop me from having fun. azzapp:

Do I think it was fair to those who entered that it was canceled after there were people who entered it? No, they should have stuck with it. Can I see Camacho's side of it? Yeah, it's a big investment in their part and only a few people seemed interested in it. And those that did enter commercials seemed only half hearted.

Just a quick question, how would the lose money if 5 people entered rather than 30? Isn't the prize the same? Just curious. I sort of agree that canceling it is within their right, but I also agree that canceling it before the deadline might have not been the best idea, At least see if there is a last minute rush.

I think the contest was a long shot for entries anyway, it's hard to get people to put together a finished video when I would say most of us would not even know where to begin with editing!

This was a "Camacho Contest" not a Cigar Live specific content. It was originally posted up on Camacho's site and filtered out from there. I even mentioned it. Unfortunately I'm not that good with video so I didn't do anything for it.
