Re: Anyone into old cars
That is right... It came with a working cowl induction, stock 456 rear end and a M22 Rock Crusher. So do you have the Turbo 400 tranny?

Re: Anyone into old cars
I had a Muncie in my 68 Chevy Shorty P/U behind a fairly built 350 (500hp). I could not keep the rear end down. Now if I had a big block like you oh my God

Re: Anyone into old cars
I'm a big camaro guy, so i'll throw that name in the hat, and if you don't want to go the rest route, there is a couple of companies that offer a complete rolling chassis of the first gen's, you just add the powertrain fuel and power, and away you go. PM me, and i can look up the websites of a MI company that does awesome cars in fiberglass.

Re: Anyone into old cars
Just do it! Have you considered other cars in the same year range. Like the Ford P/U or something of a sleeper like a 66-67 Convertible Nova?

Re: Anyone into old cars
I haven't locked it down to any one car yet. Just something the family could all get into. I saw a "cuda" at a car show this weekend that I thought was very nice.
Also what would you rather do buy a crate motor or rebuild one?

Re: Anyone into old cars
My Cousins
.... SS win @ Super Chevy Street Division in Dallas TX. This car has two Nitrous bottles....etc. My cousin and I had the same Automechanics teacher in high school. His older brother had the same teacher. His brother had put a 396 that had been punched to about 425 ci. in a 58 Chevy two dr. It had 11 inch slicks and a pontiac 411 rear. I saw that (58 chevy) car take a 442 Road Runner for a case of beer. The 442 spun a bearing and was left sitting in the road. ![]() ![]()

Re: Anyone into old cars
depends on time and ability...if you have both..nothing better than building yourself..but for the money and time its easier to do a crate.....just my
...take it for whats its worth..another option is picking up a engine from a salvage yard and freshing it up a bit and putting it in.......Shawn
