Ding Ding Ding...That's the way I have enjoyed a few over the years. Back country roads and just cruising. Have to admit 75 on the interstate is a bit fast so the wind smokes it all up.

Exactly. I carry the cheap ones so I can throw it away if everyone is ready to go before I've finished.

Re: Cigars & Motorcycles - Speed Test

Depends on the windshield and the height. Mine is up high and deflects the wind great and I can enjoy a cigar as long as Im not doing 65+. I dont smoke my best cigars because it will be in my mouth more than in my hand for obvious reasons. I don't care what it looks like to other people as I do it for me. I know I get strange looks but I look right back and blow smoke rings at em when at a light.

Re: Cigars & Motorcycles - Speed Test

I do it all the time. It makes the day go by real fast on cross country runs. I got a cig lighter in one of my side panels. Not the best way to light but about the only way while on the move. Not hardly dangerous at all.........ive texted before on the Road King! Now thats retarded! I wanted to see if it could be done. It can.

Re: Cigars & Motorcycles - Speed Test

I smoke in my Miata a lot. It's like a 4-wheel motorcycle. have to ash often and be mindful of the jetstream in certain parts of my car. I tend to hold my cigar with my right hand next to my shifter. Guess it's kind of the opposite than smoking on a bike? Speeds of 100+ have been reached while smoking, but I wouldn't recommend it. If little wisp of wind hits the cherry it's like sparklers on the 4th of July.

But 120 with the top down IS fun... I need a bike...

Re: Cigars & Motorcycles - Speed Test

Was riding my buddies PW50 pit bike with a beer in one hand and a Partagas Series S in the other. Kinda ended up speed smoking that stick. BTW Professional rider (yeah right) on a closed coarse. Do not drink & drive folks.....Saftey crew was on hand........OK so maybe just a box of Band Aids & a fire extinguisher

Now that makes about as much sense as an ashtray on a motorcycle!

I suppose if you have an open face or flip up helmet, and a tall enough windshield, your cigar will not burn quite so hot. I have tried it on a cross country trip cruising across I90. We were burning tank after tank without stopping. It was not too bad. I would do it again in a heartbeat under the right circumstances. If you are going to smoke and ride, I think the interstate cross country slab is one of the better places to ride and smoke. I have seen, and done much more stupid things on my bike in the past.

Watch out for those hoof rats folks!
