Rental cars and cigars?

I use a "car share" care rental place, this is listed on their site:

14. Other
14.1 Smoking is absolutely prohibited in Zipcars. Pets are too, unless they are transported in locked pet carriers. Service animals are an exception to this rule and are allowed in the car without being in locked pet carriers. Members are subject to penalties if evidence of smoking or pets is found in Zipcars.

I haven't smoked in one yet, but I'm sure I will on a long trip. I'll just use the febreze method. (My g/f only notices when I smoke in the apt 1 out of every 5 times I do thanks to febreze)

Depends on where you go. I just came back from hawaii, most rental companies specify no smoking and have stickers of the no smoking sign in the car.

My brother rented a car here on the mainland, and there was marijuana on the seats! Fortunately his buddy that was with him was a cop and they took it right back to the rental place. Imagine getting pulled over.. "Really, its not mine officer"!

I have rented cars here that are smoking approved, but I know a lot of the companies dont want you to smoke cause you'll stink it up and burn holes in the seats
