Not sure what your definition of affordable is, however anything over 24/28 bottles will start costing in the 300-400+ range after tax.

The absolute cheapest I have seen online is a Vinotemp 34 bottle for 299.98 on sale at winecoolers.com.

The next step up I found is Haier, which is looking at 390-550 for a 40+ cooler.

Unless you absolutely need just one, you may be better grabbing two smaller 28 bottle ones at Target on sale for about 170+tax each.

I looked for one before I bought my Avallo, but didn't find much that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I decided to go with a cooled Avallo instead. It did cost an arm and a leg but it was built to be a humidor.

Thanks guys. I had thought about more than one but was trying to find a 40-50 bottle in the same range as two of the 28's. I could only find two but they were in the 450 range plus shipping. I think I'll get a couple of 28's.

I went with the VINOTEMP 28 bottle from Target. Got lucky and got a good one the first time.

I am seasoning it now and waiting to see what the temp gets to to figure out if I need to get the Johnson Controller or not. Now I need to find some Spanish cedar for shelves and something to plug the hole with.

I have that particular model, and I must say that once you find where to set it, they stay very constant in a good temperature range.

I set mine on 61 and it stays at about 66 top to bottom.

The only beef I have is having to constantly recharge the beads. The cooling sink generates a LOT of condensation.

My next project is devising a way to route that dripping condensation into a tray of beads
