Re: Xikar Lighter?

I just did a google search and came up empty handed. Also looked at their web site and found nothing. Where did you see Xikar Lighters advertised?

Re: Xikar Lighter?

Xikar doesn't really manufacture the lighter. It is just a promo thing where they stamp their logo on a (retail) $15-20 lighter. I've seen em at Famous & I think at Mike's & maybe at JR.

Re: Xikar Lighter?

Lemme look.......I got one last year at Famous with a box of Olor Fuerte. The pin holding the top in started to come loose & I quit using it. Been meaning to take it to a jeweler & have him put the pin back in for me......

It is silver & has the Xikar logo on the side, is a double flame torch & weighs about the same as my Colibri Trinidad. It is better than those cheap torches you can buy, but I wouldn't call it anything to write home to mama about.....it still lights......

Re: Xikar Lighter?

I've got one of dem puppies. Came with 3 Olor Fuerte Robusto's, a Key ring Punch and a Leather 3 finger case for $13 from cigarauctioneer. I never could find a place that sold em online or otherwise so I'm assuming they don't make them just put there name on em probably a promotional item. My flip top is loose also but it's still a good lighter that I use everyday.

Re: Xikar Lighter?

I don't have the digital camera, but I'm sure I saw a picture in a couple of last year's Famous catalogs. If I run across it, I will let you know which month.

Re: Xikar Lighter?

I have seen them. I have not bought one yet. My .99 cents bic is still working. Xikar is just trying to get a bigger market share with these lighters. They probably figure people who order cutters will get lighters at the same time.

Re: Xikar Lighter?

Here is a pic of the Lighter. It's a dual flame torch cheapo. Not worth more than $10 IMHO but it works.

Re: Xikar Lighter?

So I called Xikar today.. and talked to the owner Kurt.
He said that they themselves do not make the lighter , but are endorsing them or something along those lines. It is covered in their lifetime warranty and everything so it is considered in their line of products.

He also said they themselves, are in the works of designing their own lighters and they are gonna be premiering in some trade show in October of this year.
They wanted to get into the lighter market early this year and they said they liked the design of this lighter they are putting out now so... He said they will be coming out in masses soon but had shipped to a few locations early and that musta been the ones I got.
So thats the scoop, poop.

Re: Xikar Lighter?

Where did you see this lighter, was it at a local shop or online?

Re: Xikar Lighter?

The Xikar lighters I have seen are a Solo Trek badged with the Xikar name down the side. These are a double torch lighter that cost around 20 bucks. If memory serves me, they're made in Korea. I have a regular Trek and it has always worked quite well for me. In fact, I think it works better than my Vector Gear that most people rave about. My only gripe is the hinge pin likes to pop out frequently.
