Re: Oasis block humidifier

Use PG the first time you use it, DW for every refill afterwards.

Where can you buy those beads??? And a question that has nothing to do with any of this. Are partagas illegal in the states here??? I am looking to buy a PSD4 but it seems that people on here have a hard time finding them.

Beads you can get at www.bargainhumidors.com.

I converted my Oasis resevoir to use the superhydrating crystals ... much nicer to use than the foam. Use distilled water only unless you seek trouble.

Partagas are illegal, as are any Cuban product including sugar ... or any product that travels through Cuba on its way here for that matter. You might try the Cuba's Famous Brands version of the PSD4 that Uncle Mikey sells .... www.mrbundles.com.

Bead Beads Beads.

I used Oasis for a while and I had to check the RH and adjust constantly. I bought beads and now I check the RH every other week or so and it only varies 1 point up or down.

Re: Oasis block humidifier

The Cuban Partagas are illegal because they are cuban. Anything from cuba is illegal because of an embargo we have with them. The non-cuban Partagas on the other hand is not illegal, true story.

Superhydrating crystals? Same as beads? If not, could you put beads in an Oasis?

Re: Oasis block humidifier

Occasionally you with have to get a fresh refill. In my experience you can only refill the cartridge so many times before it goes bad and starts emitting an odor. I n the past I would only refill the cartridge 3 times with distilled water before I would change to a fresh refill.
