I am thinking of building a Humi - Suggestions and Insight

Ok so I have a small problem..................well ok I have many problems but I am working on this one first.

I had a dream last night that I built this awesome Humidor (I blame Shilala and MTmouse) but that is another story.

What I want to know from the gorillas out there is

Are there plans available on the internet somewhere?
Should it be air tight?
Is beads enough to humidify a wine fridge size humi?
Do I need a circulating fan?
Can I get a specific size of spanish cedar tray online somewhere then build my interior dimensions around that?
I am thinking of beveled glass front door any insight on how to set that?
Should I seal (weather strip, magnet seal???) the door?
Hinge suggestions.
Some suggestions for the cabinet wood, I want something burled but no idea what kind of wood that would be or how it works. (I will line the inside with Spanish cedar)

I do have some meager talent and what talent I don't have I make up for in patience and anal retentiveness so I am thinking of taking this on.

There are plans for it, but honestly plain and simple its just a wooden box. But the door seal and the wood is joined together so that no light will escape from the inside out when you put a flashlight in. The wood itself will allow some very minute breathability. I had mine done by a carpenter, lol I cheated. I bought a Plank of spanish cedar and had him plane it and build it. I haven't gotten to use it yet because im lazy and haven't gone to buy the weather stripping.

Sounds like a very nice plan. I hope that everything works out, just be sure to keep us updated with pictures.

I am by no means an expert, just some thoughts on what I have gathered from here. I am sure more learned schollars of the leaf will have better/more suggestions.

I am sure there are plans somewhere. Many gorillas have done them without printed plans.
Should it be air tight?
Yes, or damn close to it.
Is beads enough to humidify a wine fridge size humi?
Yes, should be, just use the calculator on the Heartfelt website to find out how many you would need. Clicky
Do I need a circulating fan?
Yes, for the size you are describing. Some OUST style fans would suffice.
Can I get a specific size of spanish cedar tray online somewhere then build my interior dimensions around that?
Yes, there are a few sites that sell the cedar trays, but if you are making your own humidor I would just make my own trays too.
Bargainhumidors.com
Cheaphumidors.com
heirloomhumidors.com
Just to name a few, if you want to buy.

I am thinking of beveled glass front door any insight on how to set that?
Get a glazier (sp) someone who sets glass to do it, just to make sure you don't have any leaks.
Should I seal (weather strip, magnet seal???) the door?
Yes, I would go with heavy duty magnets and some weather stripping to get a good seal.
Hinge suggestions.
Try to keep them minimal to minimize places that the humidor could have bad seals.
Some suggestions for the cabinet wood, I want something burled but no idea what kind of wood that would be or how it works. (I will line the inside with Spanish cedar).
Personally I like the look of mohogany or cherry wood.
Here is a thread about sources for the different types of wood for the inside and outside of the humidor:
