Dropped my Xikar

and it literally popped apart on the tile. The plastic around the blades stay on, but the little spring and screw and everything went flying. I managed to find all the pieces and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to reassemble these things.

I think the guy at the shop I bought from sold me a demo model because the little screw that you slide up and down was canted and the blades never came together in sync.

He said it was the "only one I have in the silver color, I found back in the storeroom with the other cutters"

What should I do?

I would give them a call they should be able to fix it

Guy with similar issues to you. There's a Xikar guy on the CS forums, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to help you out.

Re: Dropped my Xikar

I did the same to mine last week, but I was able to get it back together without unscrewing anything. Just get the springs lined up in their proper positions and squeeze it back together.

Get the ends of 'V' spring lined in their pockets of the cutters and make sure the coil spring is sitting properly in bottom of the 'V' spring. Close it slowly making sure everthing is sitting right. Then squeeze it closed.

But you won't be disappointed with their customer service if you contact them.

if you break it just take it to the store and exchange it for a new one. Can't beat that.

Re: Dropped my Xikar

It'll be pretty hard to break that Palio. No springs or screws.

Re: Dropped my Xikar

I think I should just send mine in. Like I said, I have a feeling that the guy in the shop I bought it from decided to give me a used open box model, because mine never cut evenly, and the blades were sticky from the get go.

Re: Dropped my Xikar

Send it back and they'll either fix it or replace it. Like some have said they have great customer service. I just sent mine for a little sharpening and came back working beautifully. My

You are correct it would be hard to break, but my Dad always told me I could break anything, and I usually do.
