My wifes Palio got stolen... by people who can afford it.

For Xmas last year my wife wanted a cutter and lighter for herself to keep in her purse and for her few time a year cigar. So I got in the palio cutter group by, picked her up a girly lighter and she was estatic...

Fast forward. Saturday I had a friend over, we were just getting ready to light up some RASS and my cutter/lighter were inside I asked her to grab hers from her purse.. She said I have a lighter, my cutter was stolen.....WHAT.

She works for a non profit.. And their "super donors (10K a year)" were having a golf outing. They had some cigars out there if anyone wanted them, and my wife volunteered a spare humidor to store them in. She was sitting right there with the humidor at check in. She says she passed over the cutter/lighter for someone to use. Put them back in her purse, they were on top and kept checking people in. Someone else asked for a cutter about 20 mins later, and the cutter was gone. Girly lighter remained. Not only did someone just 'walk away' with the palio, but they reached in her purse to get it.

x2 what a bunch of idiots. Stuff like this really really bothers me. I mean, if they're stealing cutters, what else are they doing?

Re: My wifes Palio got stolen... by people who can afford it.

That's a terrible story. I can see someone who isn't part of the cigar community seeing the palio as a cheap store counter cutter though. I mean, it is the best cutter there is, and exquisitely made, but it is plastic. Most people who don't actively smoke cigars ask me, a habitual smoker, why I have a cheap plastic cutter. Couldn't be farther from the truth, but it is possible that the same thought process occurred. To a cursory glance, they don't look $30. Anyway, sorry for the unfortunate experience, and it looks like Mark is being a champ as usual.

Re: My wifes Palio got stolen... by people who can afford it.

I wrote this thread as a vent for my wife and her stolen cutter. Not in my wildest dreams did I think that someone step in and make her purse whole again. Thank you so much. CS not only is a place where you can read, learn, talk about anything and joke around. It's also has members with amazing souls.
