wine cooler capacity

Hi all

I am thinking about buying one wine cooler to use as a coolerdore.

For those who have experienced it before, how many boxes can be fitted in a 20 btles or a 16 bottles capacity wine cooler.

Im not sure if there is any way to really tell. I have a vinotemp 28 bottle cooler and it seems to depend on what cigars you buy. Some boxes are fairly flat and wide which stack good, others are narrow and high. So you will end up play Wine Cooler tetris with it once it starts to get full. As you move things around you can sometime fit more it. One thing is you don't want to over fill it or it may impead the air flow. I took out the metal racks and put in cedar shelves which help with the stacking.

i got about 12 boxes in my 16 bottle cooler at the moment and room for maybe 4 more

If I may offer my opinion, don't bother with anything smaller than a 28. I have 2 of them and it's STILL not enough room!


A 28 bottle, with 2 shelves, will hold around 16-20 boxes comfortably with plenty of air flow.

If you can afford it, the Vinotemp 28 bottle from target is about the best bang for the buck.

You will hear people talk about vinotemp tetras every once in a while. Since cigars tend to come in boxes of all shapes and sizes, there is a very real art to getting the most out of your space. I don't know about the various smaller ones, but I have 20 in each of my two vinotemps and room for 3 or 4 more in each. However, I have as many cabs as regular boxes and 5 open trays for singles.
