Coolador and heat

Well, I've read most of the heat recommendations but none look good to me so this is a rant thread. The coolador is rising in the temps. Outside was 103 and friggen heat pumps at best can only stay with in 20 - 25 degrees of the out side air. Yesterday was 100.

I may switch to a real cooler and see if that helps, this morning I put a frozen water pack to see what it will do. Not enough funds for a vino thingy setup.

On the other hand, I could bomb the crap out of every CS member, get down to 20 or so sticks and start back up in the fall. That could be fun.... Just thinking out loud here.

I have no idea as I don't have one but if heat is the issue to me it would make sense to dump the Tupperware and get an Igloo. Now, since I'm spending your money get that 165qt bad boy with the trap door in the lid!!

NICE!!!!

Good luck.

Re: Coolador and heat

I think we all probably worry too much, maybe obsess is a better word. But I'm in Florida and my temps have had me worried for months. I knew I was going to buy a Vinotemp and I just couldn't do it at full price knowing these things always go on sale. So in the meantime I took someone elses advice and got a cooler that was laying around the garage and put both my humidors inside it. I switch ice packs out in the morning and at night. It's a pain in the ass but the temperature inside that cooler is staying at 67-70. I left all the humidification in my humidors so I don't care what the humidity is in the cooler itself as it is fine in my humis. Sunday I saw the vinotemp on sale like I knew it would be and I went and got one.

But the icepacks in a cooler will do the trick for you very easily. I would start there Mike.

Ya know Al, with a friend like you, Vin and I just have it made in the shade. Gonna do the shift into a Igloo type cooler when I get home and work the ice packs. I don't mind a small climb in temp, but 75* is really starting to push it. Strange thing is it doesn't feel all that warm in the house. We do have the ceiling fans running to spread the cool.

Only thing I see wrong with that is bombs beget bombs. You may end up with more than you expected to keep. Wouldn't be prudent.
