Cuban Crafters:The PERFECT cigar cutter?

Anybody else tried this cutter. I bought one and gave it a shot. It is supposed to give you the perfect cut no matter the size of the cigar with calibrated hole inside the cutter. I used it on a torpedo last night. Unless I am way off, this thing does not cut the right amount off every time. Just wanted to see if anybody else has had luck with this cutter. I know Palio is most everybody's favorite but this one appealed to me with the supposed perfect cut every time advertisement.

I know it advertises that it will work on torpedo shaped cigars, but looking at it it seems that it would only work well on parejo shapes. Torpedo's often need a little more taken off to obtain a good draw.

I had something similar a while back that worked fine on a "flat" headed cigar but never quite worked on any torpedoes or figurados. I can't remember what that cutter was or where it went for that matter.

That thing is a gimmick IMO. I have a regular cuban crafters self sharpening double guillotine and it works great, I've cut hundred of cigars so far and it's still super sharp. The "guard" on that cutter your talking about is useless if your used to a normal guillotine already.

I have this; the principle is sound, it works great and the one I have is over a year old and still sharp.

I'm sure that, at the pricepoint, the blades won't stay sharp forever. But this does what it's supposed to and I like the cuts it makes.

Nothing like my Palios, but then you're talking +/-$50 versus the $15 for this cutter.

I have one. I really like it, but i normally need to make 2 cuts on torpedos to get a good draw. Works well on other cigars. I'm a punch man, myself, but it works really well.

Ya, for the price it is a pretty good cutter and has a lifetime warranty. I have a palio and Xikar as well. All are good, but as everybody states the palio is the sharpest. Xikar is very cool looking though. I got the Cuban Crafters because I never know if I am cutting the cigar in the right spot. I will probably use it on non torpedo cigars from now on.

Re: Cuban Crafters:The PERFECT cigar cutter?

I use this cutter. For torpedoes just cut it twice. No big deal.

I really like how easy this cutter makes cutting a cigar without destroying the cap. Every time it's a perfectly straight cut. Also after the cut it traps the cut off part inside the cutter instead of just letting it fall to the floor. I can then walk over to the trash and discard it neatly instead of holding the cigar shavings in my hand.

Re: Cuban Crafters:The PERFECT cigar cutter?

I have been using one for a year and a half and love it. Sure it doesn't cut 100% perfect every cigar but what does? I would recommed it.

Re: Cuban Crafters:The PERFECT cigar cutter?

Good point on it giving a straight cut easily. Used it again last night on a non torpedo and it worked much better. I would recommend it also, for $14.99 and a lifetime warranty it's a great alternative to those who don't want to spend $35+ on a Palio or Xikar.
