Okay, I just didn't know why they were cooler in the Cady. I say if the cigars feel good, and smoke good, you don't have a problem.

Right as I said before, now I'm just worried about them splitting when heated due to the humidity...although 69% might be all right in the end.

How would I watch the temp though? A hygro would show it, but how would I correct it if need be?

I just removed a loose flake from a cigar foot; not a splitting cigar, merely a jagged piece. Should I be concerned?

Without a Venotemp, I would say to freeze all your cigars and then you don't have to worry about the temp (all the cigars I sent you have already been frozen). I would also try and keep the cigars at 65% if you are woried about spliting, but if you like them at 69% that is fine, I don't think it should be a problem. If you are worried about a drastic temperature change, just let your cigar sit out at room temp for a while before you light it.

The cigars I sent you too were pre frozen - no worries with them.

Much obliged, gents. I'm just worried because 1) I know these things cost money, no matter how small an amount, 2) I hate to waste the generosity shown me, and 3) I do what I can and it isn't much.

So I reinserted the sticks in the cellophane backwards, folded both ends under, and sealed the humi. It's in God's hands now. They sit until they die by fire.

I shouldn't let a little flaking bother me should I? I think it was from sliding them in and out so often, I'm done until I smoke them.

Re: Cigar Caddy closure

Way to many people deal with issues in RH% that you can change in one opening of a box/humi so don't sweat it. If you have reliable beads and a good seal, keep the lids closed your problems are over. You will develop a taste over time for different sticks at different RH%. I have a 60% dry box and keep most of my sticks at 65% due to I like the way the draw, ash and burn at this %. I also personally feel I get the most flavor out of the sticks. There are a ton of educational threads on RH% ,cooler storage etc. read and experiment you'll find your own niche and taste.

Thought so...for the time being, for my mobility issues, and space requirements, I'll trust in the Caddy alongside Boveda and go from there.

I'll close it, seal the valve, and set it aside until as such a time as imbibing seems appropriate...First week of school hehehe

Thanks guys!
