How many beads for a 54qt cooler?

I recently purchased a 54qt cooler and I'm getting ready to order some Heartfelt beads for it. According to Heartfelt's website 1/2lb of 65% beads is good for up to 2.5 cubic feet of space. The 54qt is approximately 1.872 cubic feet. I'm thinking that 1/2lb will be enough but I want to make sure I have enough of a buffer so the RH can recover fairly quickly after I open the lid and dig through it. Does anyone else have any experience with a cooler of this size along with beads?

Half a pound will be fine. And if it is one of those extreme coolers (can hold ice for 3 days or more) then you won't even need to spray but half of the beads.

I recommend Scott's beads - work very good in mine.

When I had a cooler (72 qt.), I used 1lb of beads. 1/2 lb wet and 1/2 lb dry.
