Calibrating Temperature?
I've got an Acu Rite from WalMart and my temperature seems to be totall off. I know the room is 60ish degrees, and the thing has been staring at me saying it's in the 75; I am almost certain that it is incorrect. I searched the forums for "Calibrating Temperature" but I seem to have no luck. Is there a "salt test" for calibrating temperature that anyone knows of?
Oh yeah, can't stick it into ice or boiling water which is the common way to test a cooking thermometer ![]()

Re: Calibrating Temperature?
Sorry mate, I know of no way to calibrate the temperature on a hygrometer.

Re: Calibrating Temperature?
Put it next to a mercury/alcohol thermometer. When the reading levels off, note the difference. Then just add the difference when you read the levels.
