Siglo Punch Cutter
OK, I feel completely moronic for even typing this question...
I have always used a double-blade cutter for my sticks. Never a problem, always happy with the results. A few months ago I came across a Siglo Punch Cutter for a good price. I picked it up, but quite frankly, have no ****ing idea how to use it ![]() It's this exact model: http://www.sigloaccessory.com/popup....r=143&pindex=1 There's no spring or anything. You just twist and a round blade comes out the top. Anyone care to shed some light on exactly how you're supposed to use this thing ? ![]()

Re: Siglo Punch Cutter
It's a punch. Take the round blade and push it through the cap. A little plug should fall out then.

Re: Siglo Punch Cutter
Hey, I didn't know HTF to use a punch either when I first came across one.
Just extend the blade, put it on the center of the head of the cigar, and twist the blade back and forth while pressing it into the cap. Once the blade is all the way into the cigar, pull it out. It cuts out a circular hole, it doesn't "punch" a hole in it. There should be a neat hole in the cap - then just twist the blade back in so the piece of tobacco you cut out comes out of the punch. Voila! |

Re: Siglo Punch Cutter
Thanks to all for the replies. I had a hunch this was the way to do it, but didn't want to wreck a good stick testing it out. Thanks !

Re: Siglo Punch Cutter
Also, I recommend that when you insert the stick only turn it to 1/3 of a turn. I find with punches if you turn them too far, it cracks the stick.

Needless to say but, it won't work on a torpedo or belicoso...

Re: Siglo Punch Cutter
Thanks for asking the question.
I have never used a punch myself, but for my first cigar, the person working at the B&M used a punch and shoved it as far as it could go into the cigar. There was a chunk missing instead of just the cap. I assumed this is how it was supposed to be done. I'm glad I read this since I have been thinking about buying a punch to keep on a keyring.
