How does the large Rubermade containers work for long term storage
I was as Target today and they make them pretty darn lardge. Has anyone used one with beads and if so is the seal tight enought. I know many have used the large coolers with great luck but these seem a bit cheaper and larger. I would be keeping it in the basement so not to worry of it getting to hot. Any feedback?

I don't remember when or who posted it but yes. Not long ago there was a post about using a storage container rather than a cooler. Who ever it was used weather stripping to seal it.

I found the post but I don't know how to post the link. Just use the search button and put in boxidor. It will only show two posts and the title is BOXIDOR. Hope that helps.

Re: How does the large Rubermade containers work for long term storage
It wasn't me, but my 2 Rubbermaid containers retain humidity very well and all I did was tape over the drain holes in the handles. Check the underside of the lid and compare it to the lip of the container to make sure it's not one of those designs with the supporting ribs that leaves an air gap between them.

Re: How does the large Rubermade containers work for long term storage
Airtight seals are usually more of an issue in small desktop humis. A large container can allow a bit of air exchange around the seal & still keep a good rh environment for your cigars.

Re: How does the large Rubermade containers work for long term storage
For $11 at Wmart I got this 35 gallon Sterlite container.
Works well holding @ 70 rh. With beads in it. Here's the link to BOXIDOR Tom
