I had trouble refilling my Zippo torch insert. Even after refilling it, the butane would not flow properly and stutter. I went back to JJ Fox in order to return the lighter, which I considered faulty. However, the JJ Fox sales clerk showed me that you have to vacate all the air and residual gas from the gas chamber with a precision screwdriver by pressing gently onto the valve before every refill. He proceeded and the lighter worked fine without a need to exchange it. This procedure and premium butane have worked fine for me ever since. PS: Having read taltos' reply, if this is indeed a nozzle problem, then consider my advice superfluous. Last edited by jm0307; 11-20-2008 at 10:53 AM.. Reason: taltos' reply |

Re: blazer mini tourch questions
I have not had any trouble filling my Blazer or my Ronson Jet Lites with either Lava or Vector butane. I do not use any of the adaptors and just place the metal nozzle in contact with the refill valve. The nozzle is slightly beveled and makes a good connection. You do not want the nozzle to fit over the refill valve since the valve and nozzle both must be depressed in order for a fill to take place. Hope this helps.

Re: blazer mini tourch questions
As stated above, you might have some air in the tank. This will cause erratic results. It is always best to purge the tank by depressing the fill valve until nothing comes out. Shake the lighter and repeat until you are sure the tank is completely empty of fluid and air. Then refill.

Re: blazer mini tourch questions
One more vote for Vector brand butane. Also, I have the blazer with the clear tank, so I can see EXACTLY how much butane I have. It's fun to watch it fill the tank as a liquid.
