Temp v. Humidity
I checked my humidity the last couple times I opened the humi and the humidity is 60% and the room temperature is around 68.
Normal? When our apartment was hot the humidity was around 65-70%. Should I be worried? I don't want to run the heater all day just for cigars..my gf would kill me.

There's not much to worry about in that range. Lower tempeture just means it's a bit harder humidity to stay in the air. But you're still at around 60 degrees so it's no problem.

Re: Temp v. Humidity
That’s normal. It can be a little harder to maintain humidity during the winter since the air is drier. I suggest recharging your beads/humidifier in your humi and you’ll be good. I keep mine between 62-65 Rh, but there are collectors in HK who prefer their levels in the upper 50’s. As long as the cigars are smoking well, then you’re set.

Re: Temp v. Humidity
I have 4.5 ouces of beads inside and a round humidier (that you add solution too)...
I just smoked one at lunch and it was a good smoke, burned almost perfect.. had to touch it up a couple times but not bad at all.

Re: Temp v. Humidity
Beads you add solution to? Which beads? What solution? I'm fairly certain that beads only want distilled water and the 70/70 polyglerciate (probably butchered the word) clogs up the pores on the beads.

Re: Temp v. Humidity
I'm having the same problem and started another thread about it. I'm at 70 degrees and 58% humidity. Ordered some beads as per suggestions from other members. Waiting on them.
It's definately not my hygrometer, so its either the humidor or the humidification. SIGH. |

Re: Temp v. Humidity
True. Do not add pg to any silica beads or gel. I know several companies(Xikar) say to but I would advise against it.

Re: Temp v. Humidity
Since I switched to 65% beads from Heartfelt my #'s have been bang on. Best money I've spent for this addiction. I use distilled water in a spray bottle so as to not over saturate the beads.
