My Magic Coolerdor

I have a 120qt Max Cold Igloo cooler that I use as a coolerdor. It works well, seems fairly air tight, however there is something that I think about from time to time. It keeps the humidity constant, almost preternaturally so.

The "problem."
The coolerdor almost always reads 69%. Even after a couple of months of not recharging the beads with distilled water.

The "particulars."
The cooler is 90% full.

I have tested the hygrometer with a test pack and it checks out. (it is an adjustable digital)

I have three 1 pound mesh bags of, what I thought are 65% beads. (I think the retailer may have mailed me the wrong stuff)

The beads are opaque throughout.

I sometimes spray down the beads just because it seems like something I should be doing.

The cigars are smoking great.


Does anyone know what is going on?

closed box...beads doing their job...full box to take up any variations. A full box is easier to maintain, once established.

I have a LARGE box (old refrigerator with reefer gone) I don't touch it for months on end.
I used to focus on it...
BUT IT"S TRUE...And that's with PG/floral foam...
You have a wonderful synergy in the humidor....
