Stockings filled with Heartfelt Beads Repelling Distilled Water
So I ordered some 65% RH beads from Heartfelt and am extremely happy with their performance. My problem is I filled stockings(pantyhose, nylons, w/e you want to call them) with the beads. When trying to recharge them with distilled water, the stockings won't let any water absorb. You spray water on, pour water on and it just beads right off.
Anybody else experiencing this? I have just been opening up the stocking and spraying the beads but I would much rather just spray through the stocking. I put the beads inside those floral humidifying black cases (I took out the floral foam) and they are in my humidor along with some randomly placed shot glasses filled with beads. I don't know if it's normal for stockings/nylons/pantyhose to repel the distilled water like that. Maybe I got some high class hose lol. |

I have never had a problem with beads inside panty hose.

Re: Stockings filled with Heartfelt Beads Repelling Distilled Water
They do repel water to some extent but some of it still goes trough. I would be patient and keep spraying them until you notice most beads to be clear. It might help to dry the stocking material with a clean towel at that point in time. The best way to do it is passively by placing a wet sponge next to them and let them suck up the humidity. That takes too long for me, I like instant results.

Re: Stockings filled with Heartfelt Beads Repelling Distilled Water
I usually dip the beads in hose, halfway of the pack, in distilled water.
I take em out of the wayer, let em drip a bit. Final result is ~ 50% filled beads, which is what I find the ratio to be for a working environment in my boxes. Tom

Go to a craft store and look for mesh baggies meant for gift bags.
They have drawstring ties at the top, and work like a charm!
