My wine cooler-dor project

I was going to buy a humidor but it gets too hot here in AZ in the summer time. So I decided on a wine-cooler. Ok it's no Vinotemp, but I didn't find out about the Vinotemp clearance till they were all gone.

So I went to Target and picked up an Emerson 12 bottle thermo-electric wine cooler on sale for $79.99 marked down from $99.99

Tonight I finished making one Spanish Cedar pull out drawer and will make another one.

Altogether I think I have about $110 bucks into it and about 45 minutes of my time.

I plugged the drainplug with elec tape and the unit seems to hold its humidity pretty well.

The front door has a nice mirror tint finish. The unit looks nice and is not that big. Which has contributed to the wife allowing it to stay out in the house and not tucked away in a room.

Size is 19" high x 14" wide x 20" deep

It will do for now, I picked up a second one just in case. I will consider keeping it or returning it since Target has a 90 day return policy. Who knows, I may get something bigger down the road if need be.

Re: My wine cooler-dor project

My understanding is that thermoelectric units do not dissecate (dry out) your cigars. I must confess I don't understand the quantum physics behind it.

Nice job with your Emerson wine-a-dor! Enjoy it!
