Thumbs up RH dead on!!

My Hydra (comercial series) finally arrived from the North Pole (via the devil's site) last evening. I have a "Tower of Power" with about 400 sticks in it. With beads, my RH has been fluctuating between 62 and 65%. Hooked up the Hydra unit and the RH got to a bulls' eye 65% within an hour. This is an amazing device indeed. So much for having to check my RH every hour on the hour...

Left the beads inside to serve as regulating units to protect from any fluctuations should they occur.

I'd say is more a question of when rather than if...

Re: RH dead on!!

The combination of active humidification (such as the Hydra) and passive humidification (such as the beads) seem to be the winning combo. I have the same setup (except I use the smaller Hydra) and a LOT of beads.

The beads I think are doing the majority of the stablization but the hydra is what kicks in when I open/close the humidor to bring up the humdity quickly.

So far, my humidor has been dead on between 63 to 65%, even over the Winter months where the ambient humidity is really low (according to my external hygro, 25% RH).

I have the Hydra set to 64% and am using 4 lbs of 65% Heartfelts.
