Humidor conditioning

Hello all. I just got my first Humi for Christmas. Its a Rocky Patel Ambassador Series (100 ct.). I conditioned it by filling the humidifier with 50/50 solution and placing a bowl of distilled water inside. i also set a pack of Humi beads in there. It has been 10 days and the inset hygrometer still says 67. It has been steady now for about 3 days. So my questions are: Is the hygro off? do I need mor humidifacation power? Is my humidor crappy? Is the dry New Mexico climate keeping it low? What else should I be doing to get the RH up?

Cheers,

Jason

My hygro is inset. Is there a way I can calibrate an inset hygro?

Re: Humidor conditioning

Go buy a digital hygrometer.

In reality your humidity is probably far off from the 67% it says. Analog hygrometers are notoriously bad. The good news is that whatever the true humidity is, it is stable.

Re: Humidor conditioning

67% is fine. Take out the water and if you hold steady at 65-70% you are good to go. You can also get a digital hygrometer and calibrate it using the salt test for a minimum of 24hrs.
