Question for Aristocrat Set/Forget owners

I have a Aristocrat "Set & Forget" humidor that I bought from Bob Staebell in July....It is 22"WX45"HX 25"D......I have about 42 boxes of cigars in it. I need to add more water to it every 6 to 8 days to keep the humidity from falling....Is this normal???? I love the humidor and I'm not really complaining as distilled water is only 1.00 per gallon, I'm just curious if this is a normal rate of water consumption??? I keep the temp @ 67 and the humidity at 68.......Thanks for any replies.......Wally

Seems a bit high as far as consumption. I believe mine has the 1 quart reservoir, and it easily goes 6-8 weeks before I add water. Even then it isn't in danger of immediately running out.

Does it just need topping off, or is it really close to being empty?

Have you contacted Bob and asked him what he thinks?

Are you saying it's running dry in that time? That's crazy, no way you should have to do that, unless the ambient humidity where you are is like 0.

Normally I go about 6-8 weeks between refills....but with the crazy temps here (below zero for days on end), the furnace running around the clock, I actually had to fill it twice in 3 weeks this month....if it continues after it warms up, or you are in a warm climate, then you might have a seal issue.

Re: Question for Aristocrat Set/Forget owners

That seems really excessive. My questions would be:
- are you going into your humidor a lot (multiple times a day)?
- have you calibrated the RH on the set & forget (mine was off by 5%)
- are you sure you have a good seal? I know that Bob ships a very high quality product but perhaps something like a seal was damaged while it's been at home.

Even in the middle of the winter with these below 0 temps, I won't refill my reservoir more than once every 4 weeks max.

Re: Question for Aristocrat Set/Forget owners

6-8 weeks is my normal refill timeframe. Contact Bob for further clarification.

I believe it to be a leak somewhere. Great choice in the Aristocrat!!

Good Luck!
