Chas, I picked up a beautiful lattice carved meerschaum cigar holder at RTDA. I find I miss the taste of the cigar on my lips, but on the other hand, I love beautifully colored meerschaum. I've settled in to using it only at home and only for cigars that seem to have higher oil or tar levels. We'll see how long it takes to get some good color going!

Hi Dale,
I should have known that you have tried a cigar holder as you are a pipe smoker and the cigar holder is somewhat between a full pipe and a naked cigar.

Interesting topic. The first thing that popped into my head was a picture of Cruela Deville from 101 Dalmations smoking her cigarrette with one of those devices.

We have a young kid, about 25, who uses one at one of the cigar shops I go to. I think he uses it to make himself feel upper class, he is a very cocky kid. Thinks he knows everything.

The thing i love about my cigar holder is that i can smoke those last puffs of a cigar without burning my fingers. I usually don't even use mine till the last inch or so.

I prefer to use mine when I'm smoking a cigar and I need the use of both my hands. The hard bit allows me to hold the cigar securely without crushing it or slobbering it to death.

A lot of the other guys here do as Wooden Indian Tobacco suggests and use it to smoke their premium and ultra-premium cigars right down to the nub after it is too short to smoke in their hands.

Dale may like his lattice but I prefer to use my nice smooth holder myself.

I have one that I painted pink and put rhinestones on. It's pretty kick arse. For a girl...it's not very manly.

Got a picture of that? Sounds like fun...

Too bad you can never tell which direction the natural coloring will go. I've seen some that turn a purplish-pink color instead of the traditional honey-brown...
