Thanks, Mark. That book is definitely going to be a part of my library.

We appreciate all you do for us as a community.

Have a great weekend,

We thank Walt (xxWaldoxx) for posting the link to the Stogie Review where he reviewed Nat Sherman's 1996 book, A Passion For Cigars.

Thanks for helping us add another book to the list, Walt.

We especially thank everyone at the Stogie Review for putting that review on their site and reminding us that books are a great way to have a "conversation" with some of the most interesting people who have ever been associated with the world of cigars and the art of smoke.

Last night I re-read Richard Hacker's book, The Ultimate Cigar Book, and especially enjoyed his Chapter 7: Spirits and Smoke.

On this Father's Day, we thank all of those authors, who in a very real way, have been father's to us, teaching us about the cigars we so enjoy turning into ash and about the people who, by their care and craftsmanship, make that enjoyment possible.

Happy Father's Day to you all,
Don

Another great cigar book that was printed in 1998 is:

A Woman's Guide to Cigar Smoking: Everything You Need To Know To Be the Ultimate Cigar Aficionada by Rhona Kasper. ISBN: 9780312182304.

SOTL: You'll enjoy reading this book. Let us know if you discover any other titles of interest to women, so we can add them to our list of books.

BOTL: If you have a Lady to whom you want to give a well-written book on the subject of cigars, then this is one such book.

PS: Rhona also wrote this 2002 article for "Restaurants USA" magazine, about cigar smoking:

Another good cigar reference is:

Perelman's Pocket Cyclopedia of Cigars (2008 edition) by Richard B. Perelman.

I second that.

I also liked The Complete Idiot's Guide to Cigars by Tad Gage. Also,

The Illustrated History of Cigars by Le Roy ans Szafran (New Revised Edition 199

The Art of Cigar Bands by Philippe Mesmer (2000)

Both of the above are beautiful coffee (cigar?) table books. I'm not sure if both or only one were out of print, however, I got them at or about list (new condition) by some careful online searching. Don't get shafted by book dealers charging a fortune for them.

You're welcome, Don. Many can be found at abe.com which is a site where many out-of-print books can be bought.

Enjoy your reading!

You're welcome, Chris.

If you ever come across a good book on cigars, please let us know so we can read it, too, and add it to the list.

never heard of abebooks before but a quick glance at their website and it looks like a good place to get books cheap. looks like most are used but if their rating of condition is correct, at least you know what you get and a good price. thanks for posting their info
