Humidifier Tubes i made myself

i was at my local b&m and saw these Humidifier Tubes on the shelf, and i decided that i would make a few myself with some tubos that i had lying around.i also converted all my old green foam humidifiers to gel with gel that i purchased at my local michaels craft store for around 10.00 . i hope this will work for other guys out there.i used my dremel with a smill bit to drill holes into the top and a few holes on the side of the tubo

Very neat idea; any idea what (constant?) humidity the cristal ice will hold?

What a great idea. I'm thinking of doing the same thing and putting in my heartfelt beads in there.

What department of the store did you find those in? Place is pretty big, and with my luck I'd wander around for an hour before finding it... < G >

That is a cool, cheap idea there. Can't wait to find out how it works.

Re: Humidifier Tubes i made myself

These crystals work great in humidors. I'm trying to find a place to buy them in bulk so I can offer them on my site. I HIGHLY recommend them for anyone considering ditching the foam humidifiers that come standard. The gel is definitely the way to go for desktops, even over beads.

These will only release humidity until they are dry. You can use PG solution and they will release at 70%, although many prefer their smokes at 65%. The biggest problem will occur in the summer if you live in an area of high humidity. This product does not absorb humidity. I really dont understand the fascination with saving a few bucks on beads to maintain rh on hundreds of dollars of cigars. The tubes are a cool, but you might need more holes.

I agree with all of the above.

Re: Humidifier Tubes i made myself

I learned about the tubo trick on YouTube. He did it with a safety pin and so did I. I loaded them with Heartfelt 65% beads and the results are perfect. The tubos also slip right into the humis and take no more room than another stick.
