Spanish Cedar Question

Is there any stores like lowes, home depot, menards that have kiln dried cedar?

Or any decent priced places online?

Or even yet anyone who will build you trays and shelves online, Or even on here with given measurements?

I did try to search, but I came up empty handed but I'll try looking again.

Re: Spanish Cedar Question

The person(s) is mtmouse or chasden - I am terrible at spelling so I believe there names to be that or something close to that.

Both do stellar work...

mtmouse did mine the fridge pictured in the thread and those were a swap out of the original cedar shelves and he matched them perfectly and I mean perfectly - I would say they were better then the originals.

Cedar Spanish Lining 1/4'' Lumber from Woodworkers Source - Wood and Lumber Supplies from Woodworkers Source

Would this be a good selection for building trays?

Thickness: 1/4'' (S2S) Lumber is planed smooth on both sides

Widths: 4''-8'' with the edges still rough. Straight edging service is available as well, please see above.

Also is this wood kiln dried or does it make any difference?

Re: Spanish Cedar Question

If so I'd be looking at $133 with s&h for 20 ft. Not bad in my opinion.

Re: Spanish Cedar Question

FYI Spanish Cedar isn't even Cedar as it is in the mahogany family.

Cedrela - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cedrela odorata is a very important timber tree, producing a lightweight fragrant wood with very good resistance to termites and other wood-boring insects, and also rot-resistant outdoors. The wood is often sold under the name "Spanish-cedar" (like many trade names, confusing as it is neither Spanish nor a cedar), and is the traditional wood used for making cigar boxes, as well as being used for general outdoor and construction work, paneling and veneer wood. Note that it is now CITES -listed. It is also grown as an ornamental tree, and has become naturalized in some areas in Africa, southeast Asia and Hawaii. The other species have similar wood, but are less-used due to scarcity.
