Whats the best type of humidifier out there? I currently use a La Veil in my 300 count and little bead jars in my 100 count humi's but plan on building a 150qt igloodor. Just wondering if its worth the extra money to stick with the humidifiers or go with beads.

Re: best humidifier
I think everyone here swears by the beads. I've never had the opportunity to try them, but I'd like to. I use a brick of green floral foam (About the size of a house brick) inside a plastic container in my humidors and Rubbermaid containers and they have worked perfectly for years.

Re: best humidifier
Best is tough its likr best cigar opions vary and everyone seems to have one.
It depends on your set up, your ambient RH, how anal about RH you are, how often you open your Humi, how full your humi is, the location of your humi, and many other things. Personally I like beads - I like them because I have a 54 sq foot fridge (think I calc that correct) that I have to humidify. So beads are nice as the set up cost is low plus I can spread the beads on every level plus they add and subtract RH. I don't use an Oasis or Hydra due to the cost of the unit and the manitance required filling, power outages, calibrating etc. I also don't want to lose that much space or hear the fan hum. So for me beads are the best. Plus I rarely open my humi more then 3 times a week so I don't need something push RH all the time I can wait for the beads to slowly bring it back and the boxes help. Now if you had a cooler barley full of boxes with lots of singles and you opened your Humi up 5 times a day I would suggest an active system Oasis or Hydra. But there are hundreds of various setups and systems pick on then fine tune it and change until you have the humi/set up thats right for you.

Re: best humidifier
The Le Veil actually lasts a few months in the 300 count before it needs to be filled. I do see a benefit of the beads though.....they can absorb humidity if it gets too high. Might be a plus in a sealed cooler.

Re: best humidifier
I highly recommend crystal gel humidifiers for anything less than a cabinet.

Re: best humidifier
Heartfelt beads in my humi's. Very low maintenance and they control the humidity well.
