In all fairness, they did accept my offer of $35. My wording on that was a little fuzzy.

I got the new humidor yesterday and it is seasoning. It looks very nice. I haven't tried a light test yet but it closes with a whoosh so I think it'll be alright.

In short, cheaphumidors.com made it right and I would do business with them again. I have been too harsh. My apologies to all concerned. Thanks for all the replies.

I purchased my first two humidors with Dave online. Good prices, decent service...the only thing that throws a wrench in the works is having to email or get into a chat session if you started the order process online. ANY issue could be taken care of much more easily with a very short conversation on the phone, instead of a conversation through the keyboard.
I don't understand the whole Make an Offer option. You make an offer and then you're told that it takes a few days to review the offer and that you'll hear back whether or not it's accepted in a few days. Dave's the only person reviewing any incoming offers. This isn't a huge company. So why not just say yes or no and move ahead with the transaction, instead of putting on some front like there are processes internally that are followed in this type of purchase. Like I said...good prices, but it's all the same product that everybody else is hawking on the web.
I bought 2 of my 3 humidors from Dave. I just became so frustrated at the lack of communication that I purchased my 3rd through Tampa Humidors. It was nice to be able to actually talk to somebody. The funny thing...if you do a reverse look up on the company address, you be informed that the company at the address is Dave's Humidors. I just have a problem with somebody handling sales transactions by responding whenever they feel the urge. Don't ignore emails then come right back and use the same dialog from those ignored emails later on.
Lastly... the Lifetime Warranty??? Read that warranty below.

Only ordered once from them... Had a problem with the hygrometer, called and they immedately sent another one. They did right by me. -John

I have bought a few stick from them but never a humidor. I got two humidors from Bestcigarprices.com

and I love both of them no slamming lids and hold the RH very well. I don't prefer the glass top becasue of the sun heating it up at times so i have to move it periodically.

I would send it back after a phone call if I was you.
