EdgeStar TWR282S Owners

I'm trying to touch base with some other owners of the EdgeStar TWR282S Wine Cooler.
I received mine this week and have just been playing around and observing it's behavior. On it's warmest setting, I haven't seen the inside temp come up over 60 degrees. Ambient temp in the room is roughly 70 degrees. I'm curious if other owners have seen similar behavior, and if so, what you've done about it. I've got the back off and the temp control out of mine right now to figure out how to modify or completely replace the temp control with a digital thermostat...for about $30 at Lowes. Which still puts the EdgeStar at around $230 less than the similar Vinotemp to your door at current pricing. (EdgeStar TWR282S $200 shipped)

Thanks,
Walt

OK...the temp issue has turned out to be a non-issue now that the unit's been running for a few days and the outside temps are heating the room that the cooler's in to 80+ degrees.
But I'm still waiting on Chas to finish my trays and shelves, so I'm improvising till then.

I am looking at this unit since it is $199 shipped. My room is getting warmer and I need to keep my smokes cooler. The 3 level temp control had me worried but it looks like you have gotten it to work well. Thanks for the update.

It's actually not a 3 level temp control, it's infinitely adjustable from warmer to colder...though for the purpose it serves, the temp will remain on its warmest setting. Another thing if you're not overly concerned about the aesthetics...mine arrived in perfect working condition, but the door finish was scuffed a little in spots from rubbing against the packing material during shipment. I suspect that this is going to be fairly common with shipping this unit. They credited me $35
