Uh-Oh, How do I fix this?!?
First and foremost, my sincerest apologies!!! As a noob, I came in with the whole old school foam element being..... Ah, whatever!!!
I decided to use Drymistat tube (less space than jar) to keep the small 20 ct. humidor stable, which it is doing an awesome job! The foam element was not so stable..... So I threw out the free magnetic foam element but the adhesive backing appears to be stuck on the lid pretty tight, Yikes!!! Yes, I did strategically place it on there, but man, it seems like crazy glue!!! Is there anything I can do, or must I stare at metal disk that is stuck to the lid of my humidor everytime I open it? I don't want to damage the cedar lining... |

Re: Uh-Oh, How do I fix this?!?
Maybe stick the ol' hair dryer on it for a couple of minutes??? I use this method to get stickers off of new golf clubs... It warms up the glue a little enuff to peel em off. I don't think it will hurt your humi as long as your real careful & not blowing it into the box to much. Let me reiterate the being real careful part.
Oh yeah... I'd take your sticks out 1st. LOL!!! ![]() BTW- Never tried this myself. HA!!! |

Alcohol or nail polish remover will take it off. Beware some polish removers are highly aromatic.

Re: Uh-Oh, How do I fix this?!?
I did this with my first humidor, and sadly I haven't figured anything else. I have just gotten used to it. However the idea with the hair dryer may work. You might wanna leave it open for a few days to naturally let most of the moisture out first, so you don't crack, split or warp with a drastic, heat, humidity change. Let us know how it works!

Re: Uh-Oh, How do I fix this?!?
I appreciate the advice Fuente, Phantom, and Ndimarco!!!!
I think it would be best to probably just leave it on there as it is the only humidor I have for now, I don't want to run the risk of damaging the cedar or using chemicals.... At least I learned on a small 20 count humidor versus a larger more expensive one ![]() |
