So an update, it is worth it. The inside seems to beer of some cedar due to the color and the smell it gives off when wet.

The seal is great, it doesnt close even with a whoosh as it takes the slightest amount of effort to finish closing it and it holds humidity great. Too well at this point, my fault for the too large humidifier.

The one downside is that it didnt come with a divider as stated in the item description/

Definitely get a larger humi. At least a 100 maybe a 150~200 if you can afford it, and you have the space.

Re: Is it worth it?

I found dividers here divier humidors : Humidor Central.com I think they make custom sizes up to a certain size for a decent price. Im thinking of getting an extra 1 or2 for my 100ct humi

They aren'y perfect, but better than glass, metal, or certainly plastics. Secondly, cedar is a soft, porous and extremely elastic wood. It holds tremendous amounts of moisture, so acts as its own humidification medium. It sort of hedges your bets in terms of over, or under humidifying the environment. The pores hold moisture without swelling better than most other woods. Finally, most find that the aroma of cedar tends to impart a pleasant, additive element to most cigars, without being overpowering, at least in the case of Spanish cedar. Stay away from American cedar as it's aroma is far too strong.

Like Phantom said, don't buy a "cheap" humidor. Take your time and look around. My most recent purchase was of a MSRP $540 box, for $125. Deals are out there. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using a "coolerdor" with some cedar inserts. Personally I would not want cigars sitting on plastic, but a few cigar boxes, trays, or even some cedar boards inside will do wonders.

Good luck
Care to share any info? Either privately or with the group. I've been working hard to find a good deal on a humi and have been having a difficult time. I'm looking in the 100-125 range since I know I will need room to grow and I checked out all the websites people have mentioned unfortunately I have my eyes set on a dome humi from several makers out there. I've hit up Tampa's imperfect bin but they haven't had much lately so the wait will continue.

One box I consider to be a "best buy" is the Ashton Savoy Extra Large. My local sells them in various veneers for $139. It's rated at 150, which translates to 100-125. They are very well made and very nicely finished. They have that "elegant simplicity" thing going in spades.
