Humidification for a Treasure Dome

Hi,

I just purchased a Treasure Dome from the evil site and I plan to begin seasoning it today. My question is can use the Humi-care Gel in the supplied humdifiers or do I need to replace them all together.

I have used the humi-care packs for a while and love how convienient they are. I have also heard a lot about the heartfelt beads.

My reason for asking is I am a Noob (on a budget) and Im trying to put as much money into the gars instead of buying things I dont have to purchase.

Any ideas let me know

Thanks!

The Humi-care will work for a while, then get some beads. Some dont like the tubes but two have worked great in my 200ct box. BEFORE you season that thing, get an accurate RH reading. CI's warehouse is humidified and you might risk over moistening your wood.

Thanks for the advice herf.

I was wondering in another post you said you got a $450 humi for 120 or around there where did you pull that off and what did you buy?

Re: Humidification for a Treasure Dome

At christmas, one of my retailers sent out a mailer to prefered customers. It listed this RyJ Edicion Limitada for $129. When I called, the guy on the phone said the deal was discontinued. He got the owner on the phone and after a very pleasant conversation with me hinting that I also wanted to buy a box of premi's, he agreed to do the deal. When I got the invoice, the box was $120.

Shortly thereafter, I saw them listed on Famous for $540 MSRP. After that, I started seeing them on their auction site, going for around $140-$170. It's an awsome box; two inch thick cedar on the inside and AAAA veneers on the outside. The thing weighs about 35# empty. I've seen the rated anywhere from 175-200ct. I have about 140 in it right now and it's pretty damn full.

There are three versions of this. The differences being in how the birdseye maple veneer is dyed. Mine is dyed black. GlockG23 has the same box with undyed maple.

The edges and corners appear dinged in the pic, but theyre not. It's just some residue from the styrofoam, which has since wiped off.

Herf,

Wow that's an awesome piece of work! I looked that one up for a little while but never found a priece that affordable. Was able to get a Treasure Dome of the Devil sight for 86 plus shipping which I felt pretty good about.

Good to hear the owner honored the mailer seems like that doesn't happen enough.

Re: Humidification for a Treasure Dome

Update Time,

Ok so while unpackaging my new Treasure Dome, I noticed that one of the humidifiers had a minor crack in the housing so i called the devil sight and they said they did not think they could get me a replacement humidifier so they are sending me a jar of humicare as an interim measure. Not 100% happy with this I would have liked the Humi-Care Humidifiers but they said they did not think 2 would fine in my lid and I would like them to match.

So Im thinking if I can find a glue that will not put off fumes I will pull out the foam and use the Humi-care they ship me and fill up my current humidifiers.

Really would have liked to get the Humi-Care versions but I can always call them back if Im not cool with the solution.

Sounds like a decent idea?
