Re: quick question
Dont know the size of your humidor. I would suggest Heartfelt beads to pull down the RH in your humi. www.heartfeltindustries.com is the place to look. They have a online guide that you can calculate the amount of beads that you will need for your size humidor to get the desired RH. David is a member here viper139 is his name. He and his company are good people, and you will not go wrong dealing with him...Check out this post, it is LOADED with good information. Humidification Beads: FAQs

Re: quick question
The Boveda packs will do the job, but you will have to replace them periodically. With the beads, it is a one time investment. The beads will not have to be replaced, only occasionally spritzed with distilled water if needed.

Re: quick question
With either the beads (highly recommended) or the boveda packs, you should be able to keep your humidor in your upstairs bedroom - unless your bedroom gets very hot.

Re: quick question
If its that small of a humi you can put a small pak of silica gel in there and that will bring down the humidity pronto.

Re: quick question
it's my understanding that relative humidity refers to the amount of moisture that air can hold at a given temp. The higher the temperature the higher the humidity can be. So if you take a sealed container at 80 degrees and say the RH is at 65. Then you drop the temp down to 70. the humidity will go up. At least that's how I understand it.
I had this happen when I moved my humi to a colder location. I removed the humidifier left the lid open for a wile, rotated the sticks inside, then closed the lid. the humidity stabilized in about a day. Good luck

Re: quick question
Heartfelt is the way to go. Use their size calculator and follow instructions. I leave my coolidor in my closet and its fine there.
