Re: Digital Hydro or Beads?
I have both and am considering getting rid of my digital. Beads are so much more user friendly. Never have to worry about power outages or refilling the cartridge. Takes up less space too.

Re: Digital Hydro or Beads?
Both? Walmart has hygrometers for $6 dollars that you can get. Some people find them dead on some people find them marginally off, just salt test them for 36 hours to get a benchmark reading. I use walmart ones in two of my humidors. The beads are really good but when they get dry the humidity will drop. It is also good to use a hygro to see what your humidor is at before the beads, it might be high or low. If its high you want to put the beads in dry if its low put them in with some moisture. I know most around here are against cat liter crystals but there is a thread around here comparing the it to heartfelt beads. If you can afford it support a BOTL and an all around good guy and get the Heartfelt beads.

Re: Digital Hydro or Beads?
I have one expensive digital Hygrometer and four of the cheap Springfields form Walmart. One of the cheapies is of 3 the others off 1 or 2. All of them give consistent readings. Ex. The off 3 always reads 68 at 65. I did a salt test and marked -3 on the front. The expensive one is rated + or - 1. They all do the job.
I'm a fan of Heartfelt beads. Use both.

Re: Digital Hydro or Beads?
If you use an adequate amount of heartfelt beads, you don't need a hygrometer at all. It's a leap of faith at first, but dozens of BOTLs on here will tell you the same thing.
