Problems with humidity...

I just recently got a new 50 count humidor and I am having some problems with the humidity.

It came with a cheap plastic Hygrometer and humidifier that you velcro to the top of the box. I did the salt calibration test for the hygrometer and it read 65 % humidity,so I know it is off by ten.
The buy who I bought it from at my local B&M seasoned it for me, and watered the humidifier, so I am pretty sure that was done right.
But with just that humidifier it stayed at around 60%, so I threw in my old (about 9 months) cigar saver humidifier, which did almost nothing.
It seems that with two humidifiers, in a small humidor that should read higher then 60%.

Could it just be that the hygrometer is really cheap and terrible, or do need more humidification?

Thanks in advance...

Did it READ 60%? If so, then it was at 70%RH. Maybe it still needs to be seasoned some more. Don't do anything, wait a couple of days for the humi to stabilize then check. If you want to season it yourself, put a small bowl of distilled water in the humi and close it up. Also buy a quality digital hygrometer. It will save you lots of agita.

Re: Problems with humidity...

2 quick things

Make sure you calibrate your hygrometer

Properly season your new humidor (don't wipe it down, simply place a bowl of distilled water in the humidor and leave it closed for 5-10 days)

I hope this helps
