I love it! Thanks for checking them out. I was not very sure of how people would react to my work. I guess it's thew artist in me. I just posted some pics of the very beginnings of my new creation. I thought it would be cool for everyone to see my whole process. I just spent the first three innings of the Sox Yankees game ripping down the new stock for my next one. The smell of the Spanish Cedar has taken over the work shop and I am loving it! So I think it is time to hit my Local Cigar Bar. I don't have a collection yet. I will soon though!

Thanks for all the hits on my page. There are plenty of ideas floating in my head for some cool Humidors to come in the next few months!

Re: Humidors

This is a slide top. You can see it on my page.

Hey Hey Hey! Thank you Volker that works much better

This is some of the stock for the new one. It will be Mahogany, Lacewood which has a very unique grain to it and of course Spanish Cedar.
Here are a few of the planks I made today. I would have had to spend way too much money on the SC to get it in the thickness I needed. It was much cheaper and not that hard to make! 3/8 strips cut from a 2" square block then glued and sanded!

Re: Humidors

Here is the box from the planks I made..

Here it is as I am trimming it out. This one is going to be 4" x 6" x 11" on the inside. so it should hold a good amount of cigars. I built it with certain finish dimensions of my own in mind. If you want a nice box for a special set of cigars I can build to suit!

The pic is a little fuzzy. The top is not quite what I wanted but It is still going to come out nice.

Re: Humidors

I will be sanding tonight and tomorrow.

I like the way the top comes off. It did not come out as nice as I wanted but with a few more tools and I will be able to make them perfect. This will work though. The seal is tight. I actually have to push to get it all the way down.
