update on my humidor

Good evening to all:
Thanks for all the great responses to my previous thread. For those who read it, heres an update.
I received some cigars from jr cigars today plus my caliber 3 hygrometer.
As a test, In addition to the large glass front mounted, non adjustable hygrometer, I also put in the new small cheapo analog hygrometer, which came with the thompson humidor(havent used it yet) as well as the new caliber 3 digital hygrometer.
After an hour the caliber 3 is showing 72.9 degrees, 63 percen rh. The other two hygrometers are showing 62 percent for the thompson cheapo and 61 percent for the existing front mounted hygro.
So it seem all three seem to be accurate and in relative harmony to each one.
I added a sponge with distilled water about 24 hours ago to the humidor, hopeing that maybee it would raise the rh to around 70, but no dice.
The humidor is the venetian cherry that states it holds 125 cigars. It seems tight.
Any suggestion other then switching from the credo to those crystals or pillows that were mentioned.?
If I purchase on of those oasis products, will that definately handle my problem, or could there be something else possibly wrong?
I am going to start to season the cheapo 25-40 cigar thompson cherry humido they sent me, and see what that may bring as far as rh, in a few days.
Help this old war horse. Please. LOL LOL

Re: update on my humidor

I personally keep mine at 65%...and know quite a few who do also.

as for switching out to beads..I would just because its easier and cheaper in the long run.

Good Luck!

Shawn
