Dirty Heartfelt Beads

Anyone know of preferred method of cleaning HeartFelt Beads? I have aquired some and some them have "moldy" "mildewy" spots on them. I don't want to use them until I get them cleaned up. I am new to these, so I am a little unsure of how to proceed. Thanks in advance.

Re: Dirty Heartfelt Beads

Good question. For me, I wouldnt chance it and wont use them. You cant put any cleansing agent as the beads will absorb them. You might try distilled water but that wont kill the mold spores. I am curious as to what others might say.

These beads do turn a yellowish color with age. That is normal. If you know for sure that it is mold then I would recommend turfing them. Why chance it, the beads are cheap to purchase.

Re: Dirty Heartfelt Beads

Microwave or maybe even oven bake them, dont quote me on it but whats the worst that can happen? Fried beads?

But like Jeff said, might as well buy some more.

Re: Dirty Heartfelt Beads

I don't think you're going to get your beads un-moldy - the spores are basically there for good now and capable of transmitting to cigars. Beads are cheap so just toss 'em and get new ones.

Oven baking them might help a bit but it's not likely and again, new beads are guaranteed safe and are a lot easier.
