There is a humidification device in the top, you can just see it in this pic. I dropped some water on it and let it sit for a second and then wiped it off. I let it sit open for a few minutes and closed a hygrometer in there. It read 75.

How do I more accurately keep the RH?

I hope you used distilled water, not just regular water.
I have one similar, and they are really just for travelling, if you are looking to store cigars in there for amounts of time, I would recommend getting a regular humi so it will better hold RH.
Hope this helps, good luck

I've got a regular humi, but it's a desktop and not large enough to store the traveler. I'm going to have to regulate that thing down to 65% if I'm going to take to take it on a weekend trip....

Google "Cigar Juice" - premixed form of distilled water and glycol for pucks like that. Probably be easier to get one of the bead sticks though if trying to maintain for any length of time. If you aren't leaving them in a hot car or similar it would probably maintain the RH of your sticks for a week or so anyway with no RH source since it's airtight.

if your worried about the humidity being perfect make yourself a tube of beads. you will lose the space of a single cigar but the humidty will be fine. If you are only leaving the cigars in there for a couple of days I wouldn't worry about a humidity device at all.

Re: Tell me about the humidification device in this traveler

I've got one of these traveldors, it's great for weekend trips/vacations, especially if you're flying. Mine is a little bigger, holds 15 cigars.

I pulled out the small disc humidifier (just pops out). I use the little humidification pillows. My local shop sells them for $1 and they're good for a few months (you can recharge them with distilled water). I tuck the pillow into the top of the case, it works just fine.

The seal on them is really good but because there's so little airspace every time you open it the humidity jumps. If you're travelling for more than a day or two, you'll want a humidifier in there.

I have the same one, I use PG solution on the little humi device. The thing is seriously airtight, so I wouldn't worry very much.

I have the cigar caddy 15 which I keep in the truck. Similar to yours.
I put some pg combination fluid in it. I found the next day the rh to be too high.
I opened the case an inch or so for an hour and resealed and checked the next day. Rh dropped a point or two.
After about four days of going through this, it finally regulated and everytime I open it up in the truck, I am sitting at about 68 rh.
I think when I first filled the sponge with pg solution, I left no room in sponge for reabsorbtion on water.
Thus leaving it open for a few hours for a few day, a bit of the water, burned off.
So far two weeks and perfection. I dont know how long this will last, but when the rh starts going below 63, I will give it a ver short sprinkle of d.w. only. And a very short sprinkle at that.

Much regards Jerry

Re: Tell me about the humidification device in this traveler

I started storing the humidification device in the big humi. Then I put it into the traveler with the sticks. After a few days it only goes down from 70 to 65. I can't ask for anything easier or better.

Of course this wont work if you use it everyday.....

I have a pillow in mine now.

And like someone said earlier, if its a few day trip, you'll be fine with no humi (if your cigars are already at where they should be)
